Booking a show

To Safari Pete for your function or event, please call on 020 7503 3953.  Your custom is greatly valued and should the office be temporarily unmanned please leave a message, slowly and clearly, leaving your contact number twice to avoid any confusion.  You will then be contacted within a few hours.  If you have not had a reply within one day please ring again as your message may be inaudible.

Provisional bookings can be made, for which we will hold one date for one working day.

Bookings can only be made by telephone followed by completion of the booking information form found below. We ask respectfully that your form be sent within three days of making your booking. The information that is requested on the form is mandatory so that there can be no confusion regarding your booking. On receipt of the form, we will then send a confirmation to you.

Venue

All of our shows have to be carried out indoors or, if nowhere else is available, inside a marquee or gazebo as long as there is a roof and sides and temperature is of an ambient nature.  In most cases we do not use microphones. Shows can be done outdoors weather permitting. Please check our terms and conditions

We put a floor covering down which is around 3m x 2m, the children will sit either in front of or around this. Behind the floor covering we set up a small screen and keep the travelling cases behind this. We ask kindly for three classroom style or dining room style chairs to be made available for the entertainer and the volunteers that will be invited out of the audience.

To comply with our health and safety guidelines, there must be hand washing facilities available. We do stress the importance of hand washing when handling animals and the audiences are always given clear instructions at the beginning and end of each show or presentation.

It is imperative that car parking is available for the entertainer either on site or in close proximity. If parking is not available, we may not be able to carry out your booking. If the area of the venue is regularly congested with parked cars or if parking is by meter, we suggest a car be positioned to reserve a space. If there are parking restrictions at the venue, a voucher must be provided by the client. Meters will be paid for by the entertainer. In some cases for Central London, meters may only allow parking for two hours. This negates that only a one hour show is possible unless alternative parking arrangements can be made. In all cases, we aim to arrive in the area of a venue around 1/2 hour beforehand to allow for any traffic problems and in case we have to wait for parking or a meter to become available. We regret that if parking is not secured for the entertainer, we cannot guarantee completion of a booking. If this situation arises and a show cannot go ahead, the entertainer shall not be held liable. The client would be liable for the full cost of the booking.

Handling Animals Safely

We take the health and welfare of our animals very seriously but we also want to protect the health of people handling our animals.  It is a fact that all animals, including pets can carry diseases that can transferred to people.  The safest way to protect against disease is by taking hygienic precautions, including careful and thorough hand washing, preferably with hot running water and soap after handling animals.  Hand gels can be of use but are NOT a substitute for washing, they do not remove contamination from the hands and do not kill all potential disease causing agents.  Parents should help the very young with hand washing and children should be discouraged from putting their fingers in their mouths or eyes after handling animals.  Reptiles in particular can carry Salmonella and although the risks are very low, infection can be serious.  Always seek advice from medical professionals if you are unwell and mention that you have been in contact with animals.  We carry out a regular programme of faecal testing to guard againsts Salmonella and other bugs that may infect people.

We have many, many years of experience of handling animals.  Your safety and welfare of our animals is our main concern.  We will always highlight potential dangers of handling certain animals so please listen carefully to any advice given by our team.

Payment

All private bookings (including fetes) must be paid for in cash on the day. We regret that we are unable to accept cheques from private individuals. For educational establishments, payment can be made by cheque or BACS. Official groups such as Scouts, Guides etc. and corporate events may pay by cheque. An invoice will be presented on the day or sent in advance if requested (there is a checkbox on our booking form to request this). We do not ask for a deposit – receipt of your confirmation is all that is required. For agencies hiring our services, we must receive a cheque in advance of the date of the event or from the client on the day. Under no circumstances will Impeyan Productions provide credit to any individual, company or establishment.

Late payments will negate any offers of discounts.

Contracts

The contract for the event is held between the client and the entertainer.

The photographs of our animals used in the promotion of different shows and presentations does not guarantee the specific species’ that will be present on the day. We reserve the right to alter or change any part of the presentation due to circumstances beyond our control.

Safari Pete may be required to travel abroad at short notice to fulfil filming contracts. Any shows or presentations will be covered by one of the team.

Cancellation by a client within Four weeks of the booking will incur a 100% charge.  Although we allow a very generous amount of travelling time for potential delays, in the unlikely event that the entertainer encounters a delay whilst travelling to a show, they will contact the client immediately to inform of the situation. A booking may not be cancelled by a client as a result of a delay were the engagement will still be possible. If a show is not possible due to non-liability of the entertainer, an alternative date will be arranged.

In the event of an entertainer experiencing extenuating circumstances an alternative entertainer will try to honour the booking as arranged. If this is not possible, the original entertainer will negotiate a reduced fee. Any substitute date must be booked within three months of the original date with the original entertainter directly with the client.

Information for agencies

For events booked via agencies, the entertainer will only give out literature given to him/her by the agency; our literature will not be issued.

Important booking information

Please ring Pete on 020 7503 3953 before filling out the booking form below. It is important that you phone before sending the application because Pete will need scheduled the date in the diary. Any forms sent that have not had a phone call prior to being send may not be able to be booked.
